Tourny
Tournament Engine

A sport tournament management platform. Logic, data pipelines and a dashboard built around the complexity of competitive sports.

PythonData ArchitectureDashboard UITournament System

Organizing chaos
into structure.

Tourny started from a simple frustration: managing a sports tournament by hand is a mess of spreadsheets, manual brackets and missed updates. The goal was to automate all of it, from team registration to live standings, in a system that actually makes sense to use.

01

Team registration

Teams are registered with their group, level and contact info. The system validates entries and prevents duplicates automatically.

02

Bracket generation

The algorithm generates brackets based on the number of teams and tournament format chosen: single elimination, double elimination or round robin.

03

Match scheduling

Matches are scheduled with time slots and court assignments. Conflicts are detected and flagged before the tournament starts.

04

Live results

Scores are entered in real time. Standings, next matches and eliminated teams update instantly across the dashboard.

05

Final report

At the end of the tournament, a full report is generated with results, rankings and statistics.

PythonCore logic, bracket generation algorithms and data processing.
Data ArchitectureStructured data model for teams, matches, rounds and results.
Dashboard UIInterface for tournament directors to manage matches and view standings in real time.
Bracket algorithms
Single and double elimination brackets require careful graph traversal. Each match outcome propagates correctly through the tree without manual intervention.
Data consistency
Tournament state is complex: a result change cascades through subsequent rounds. The system tracks dependencies and updates all affected matches automatically.
User-first design
The interface is built for people who are running a tournament under pressure. Every action is two clicks or fewer.
